Organization Description: - Book Distribution & Publishing Company offers a team position for 2-4 members in the area of web design, development, and ASP data base integration. Learn about the trade book industry with hands on experience. Sales and marketing for book publishers, and subsidiary rights agency.
- Opportunity to meet with other teams and to learn about the trade book publishing industry topics ranging from acquisitions, book production/design, sales/marketing, PR/publicity, operations, AR/AP, subsidiary rights.
Description: - Web Designer: 1 position available, to work with marketing and graphics teams, to design and develop Book Hub website
Experience/Skills: - Level 1: -Using http (for entry level intern-2)
- Level 2: Experience with JAVA, PHP, MYSQL, CRM systems, C, Python, Lisp, Assembler, XML and Adobe.
- Project 1: Design corporate presence, contact, about, catalog pages, ordering, and checkout capabilities. Ongoing development, refresh, updates.
- Project 2: Integration with sales operations software, reporting functions, crystal reports, and develop live data reporting script.
- Project 3: Special project, develop, test through to live, commercial social networking site to interface book product with chat room (Book Club), and with click- through advertising. Leading edge opportunity to create communities of interest on per book basis, with online social networking, and straight forward highly segmented demographic click-through advertising.
