Hello, my name is Dan Haldeman and I’d like to introduce Book Hub Inc., a new book distribution and marketing company. As the former Associate Publisher with Papier-Mache Press (When I am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple series, with 2,500,000 copies sold), and as a publisher and publisher’s representative to national accounts for the past 18 years, we have wanted to upgrade our ability to serve publishers to the trade.
Our headquarters, sales, marketing, and accounting offices are located in Santa Cruz, California. As an ongoing sales organization we have had momentum with the major national accounts since 1991. In 1998 we established a subsidiary rights agency. We are now launching a new co-op marketing program with mailings, collateral production, and publicity.
We are pleased to announce our new warehouse facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We have arranged through a cooperative effort with Malloy Lithographing Incorporated to use their warehouse facilities for sales operations. In addition, Malloy Lithographing is a mid-size trade book printing company with whom we will work very closely in helping publishers to create professionally designed and manufactured books.
Book Hub Inc. is looking to sign contracts with publishers that are committed to big design capabilities with editorial visions celebrating lifestyles. Our publishers will be mainstream or eclectic and will compete aggressively for shelf space and the hearts and minds of the book buying public with fiction and non-fiction titles alike.
If you know why the likes of Andrews & McMeel, Chronicle Books, Running Press, Workman, Ten Speed Press, and Sourcebooks are successful and dominate the attention of readers.
